If you’re ready to order replacement windows and we do not have molds for your model boat, we will need patterns for fabrication. Please follow the steps below. If this is not possible, please contact us to review alternate methods for patterns.

STEP 1:

Our goal is to determine the rough opening size of your window opening for an ideal fit. To achieve this follow these instructions and see the example:

  1. Remove the window.
  2. From the outside of the rough opening, tape a piece of paper, butcher paper, etc. to smoothly cover the rough opening.
  3. Use a lead pencil, crayon, etc., and rub against the edge of the rough opening all the way around the opening.
  4. Mark each pattern with direction with top, bottom, forward, aft.

STEP 2:

The flange of the frame on the outside is typically 2”. This can be modified if need be. Please see the picture below and confirm the following:

  • The forward and aft window next to this window has enough room between them to accommodate a 2” flange for each window.
  • There is clearance on the top and bottom to accommodate a 2” flange.
